Now you can access your repositories by uploading a Secure Shell (SSH) public key so that you don't have to enter a passphrase anymore.
We also added Transport Layer Security (TLS) to access your repository using HTTP (secure) . This means your uploads and downloads are encrypted, and your Git remote address can begin with
https instead of
http. Any http requests are automatically redirected to
Adding a ".git" extension¶
Lastly, you must add the
.git extension to the end of your repository name. We did this to align ourselves with the Gitolite repository naming convention.
